June 2006 - Have You Invested In A Fish Farming Venture Even Though You Are Still In Paid Employment?

By the end of this month, I will write in detail about what you can do to stay on top of what's happening in a process-based business venture like Fish Farming, while you remain in paid employment.

It has to do with setting up sustainable, best practice systems that puts knowledge and power in the hands of even a novice owner while at the same time enhancing the ability of process operatives employed by THAT owner to do their jobs better and deliver desired results more consistently.

Stay tuned :-)

Question: Why am I so willing to "reveal" - at no cost to YOU - my knowledge/insight about how to use Continuous Improvement and Best Practice techniques to continually produce larger number of fish at continually lower costs while maintaining the same or better quality/output?

Answer: Because sharing my ideas helps me spread them to others, and will ultimately lead to better process management on those farms which use them.

Many times it is not lack of capital or poor market that prevents a fish farming venture from remaining - and becoming even more - profitable over the long term. Sometimes the problem is HOW those who manage the system do it. Standards need to be set and adhered to consistently as a culture for desirable results to be produced repeatedly.

Having said that I still have unique VALUE to give people engaged in this business by way of the BOPMS and other proprietary systems I have developed on my own. What I share on these pages allow me to gain credibility before a discerning audience of people who do this for a living, while at the same time showing them that I have some ideas that they can benefit from if they choose to engage my services - as a Best Operating Process Management Specialist.

Among other things, I would help them review their existing procedures and develop/put in place systems that either complement or improve upon them in a way that will enhance their operations to deliver greater and more qualitative output.

My sons, Stephen-Chika and Emeka, stand next to our over three and a half year old natural aquarium in November 2005 - note how clearly the fish can be seen, even though the flourescent light is off. Also observe the deliberately sparse planting I referred to in my home page introduction(part of my ongoing trials to see just how far I can push it!)
This picture shows the interior of our three and a half year old natural aquarium, when it was about one year old i.e in mid 2003. Today, the same aquarium, with over 80% same occupants maintains the same clarity. The bottom pix shows the gravel bed of the same tank - plays a crucial role in the natural biological filtration that keeps the system balanced.
